Design Statement
My clients are Deepa and Owen, a young couple with a four-year-old daughter Priya. They are located in upstate New York and are in need of renovation of their kitchen. The husband desires a kitchen where he can frequently cook 5-course meals for the family, while Deepa generally bakes and cleans up after everyone. They also want a safe space that can be used by their 4-year-old daughter and her visiting grandparents. Their colour pallet for the new kitchen is dark toned colours with the use of some rustic wood, their taste is rather elegant and bohemian. Although, they also wish to have a pop of colour with unique patterns, and some Indian heritage visual elements.
Overall my clients desired a kitchen that gives warm and welcoming vibes because they host gatherings and want the kitchen to stand out. Their main goal was to have a kitchen that represents the quote “A kitchen is the heart of a home” which has been achieved.
